About Us

Formed in 1946, Williamstown Little Theatre is one of the leading non-professional theatre companies in Melbourne. For 75 years we have presented quality, affordable theatre to the people of Williamstown and the wider community. It is our aim to continue to do so for many years to come!
Since 1968 our home has been a converted bakery at 2-4 Albert Street, Williamstown, purchased by a group of farsighted and intrepid members, to whom we are forever grateful.
2018 marked our 50th year in our premises at Albert Street!
Our cosy auditorium holds 69 patrons and we have a licensed bar for your enjoyment. There is an Audio Loop for the convenience of patrons who are hearing impaired.
Staffed entirely by volunteers, the theatre provides a variety of creative opportunities, ranging from acting and production to backstage, front of house and administration. We welcome new members.
We have a large and loyal subscriber base covering metropolitan Melbourne and beyond. Subscriptions are for 3, 4 or 5 productions in a year, providing a generous discount.
Group bookings attract a discount for groups of 20 or more (does not apply to subscriptions, which are already discounted) and are an excellent way of raising funds for clubs or groups. We welcome such bookings other than on Opening Night.
Performance times are 8.15pm Wednesday – Saturday, and 5.00pm Sunday.
Hire is available from our extensive wardrobe and properties departments on site.
Each year we present a playbill of five productions, selected by a play selection committee that liaises with the Committee of Management.
Since its inception, WLT has presented well over 300 plays, details of which can be seen in our archive.
On 25th of every month, our electronic newsletter Cues & News is emailed. To receive Cues & News, let us know via the contact tab. Past issues are archived for reference.
WLT is a member of the Victorian Drama League.
Members whose contribution is consistently 'above and beyond' are made Life Members.

WLT acknowledges the peoples of the Kulin nation as the Traditional Owners of the land on which we perform. We pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
