Join WLT

WLT is an amateur company and new members are always welcome. With five shows a year there is always plenty to do in all areas of production.

Membership to WLT costs $10 for individuals and $15 for families . Membership includes our regular electronic newsletter Cues & News, which contains news of productions, auditions, social events and members’ news, so be sure your email address is kept up to date on our records.  To have Cues and News posted to you, it costs an added $10 to cover  postage and handling.

To become a member, download the membership form, fill it in and send it either by mail with cheque payable to Williamstown Little Theatre, or if paying electronically, send the form to wltsec@tpg.com.au.

Get Involved…there are many ways to be part of the action at WLT!

Like a jigsaw, there are so many tasks specifically involved with a show…

Performing
All WLT productions are cast by auditions which are open to all interested parties. All cast members are required to become members of WLT.

Non Performing
There are many aspects of backstage and behind the scenes work,  including:

  • Stage Management
 and general backstage
  • Lighting Design and Operation
  • Audio Design and Operation
  • Costumes
  • Properties
  • Publicity
  • Set Design, set building, decoration/dressing:
WLT is known for the excellence of its sets. Saturday afternoons in the weeks before each show is a hive of activity as our team of builders, painters/wall paperers swings into action, along with a great deal of laughter and satisfaction. There are always plenty of jobs for people with all levels of experience. For information about set building contact Brian Christopher on 0458 134 469
  • Front-of-House
: An important function of Front-of-house is the welcome to patrons.  Duties include preparation of the auditorium, greeting patrons, selling drinks, confectionery and programs, ushering. If interested, contact Robert Harsley on 0414 917 381 or Linda Smart on 0410 424 019

There are also tasks that are ongoing rather than being part of a particular show:

  • Wardrobe and props departments require regular maintenance so that items are in good order and where they are supposed to be. We are in the process of streamlining, ordering and cataloguing these, so currently it is a question of the more the merrier.
If interested, contact Barb Hughes 0417 589 015 (costumes) or Peter Newling (props) 0419 205 200 (props).
  • Working Bees : During January and February each year, we hold our now famous Tuesday Night Working Bees. We use this time to do the thousand and one jobs necessary to maintain our theatre. Following the Working Bees, we enjoy a fully catered BBQ dinner.
  • Bump outs: The Tuesday night following each production is also Working Bee night, to dismantle the set and clean the theatre for the next production. Dinner is provided following the Working Bee.

For further information/ enquiries about membership or getting involved, please contact the Secretary, Shirley Sydenham  on 0402 231 724 or wltsec@tpg.com.au.
