Hilary lives in seaside Sorrento with her father and 16 year old son. Pippa is visiting from New York and Meg returns from the UK with her English husband. Three sisters, reunited after years in different worlds, again feel the constraints of family life. Meg's novel, recently shortlisted for the Booker Prize, overshadows their homecoming. Hotel Sorrento is a powerful Australian play that begins as a comedy about national identity and develops into a familial drama of great poignancy and reverberation.
