Formed in 1946, Williamstown Little Theatre is one of the leading non-professional theatre companies in Melbourne.

For over 65 years we have presented quality, affordable theatre to the people of Williamstown and the wider community.  It is our aim to continue to do so for many years to come!

Since 1967 our home has been a converted bakery at 2-4 Albert Street, Williamstown. Our cosy auditorium holds 69 patrons and we have a fully licensed bar for your enjoyment. We have an Audio Loop for the convenience of patrons who are hearing impaired. We also have extensive wardrobe, furniture and properties departments on site.

Since its inception, WLT has presented well over 200 plays, including several Australian and Victorian premieres. Our programs have included the classics from Shakespeare, Wilde and Coward to the contemporary works of David Williamson, David Hare and Terrence McNally. We are particularly proud of our record of presenting Australian plays. Each year we produce five shows : mainly plays, with the occasional small musical. All our past productions are listed in the Archives.

Staffed entirely by volunteers, the theatre provides a variety of creative opportunities, ranging from acting and production to backstage, front of house and administration. We welcome new members.

WLT has enjoyed many successes over the years, including awards at the Moomba Festival, the Waverley Festival and the VDL Awards. We also present our own
in-house awards for excellence. We are delighted to see many of our members and former members appearing on the professional stage and on film and television.

Williamstown Little Theatre is a member of the Victorian Drama League.

We have a large and loyal subscriber base covering metropolitan Melbourne and beyond. Subscription prices are $18/$16 (minimum 3 shows) and our casual rates are $25/$22. Group bookings attract a discount for groups of 20 or more (does not apply to subscriptions,  which are already discounted). Group bookings are an excellent way of raising funds for clubs or groups. We welcome such bookings other than on Opening Night.

Performance times
are Tuesday – Saturday at 8:15pm;
Sunday at 5:00pm. On the final Saturday there are two performances, 2pm and 8.15pm.
